Dennis has been a local to Mission Beach for many years and has fished the area from day one. His combined global experience together with the local knowledge he has amassed, means that you will be given the best chances to get the catches you want.
Fishin' Mission the vessel has just been upgraded (March 2007) to a brand new boat that Dennis had custom made to give his clients the most comfortable, safe and enjoyable fishing experience out to sea.
The weather is always a factor to consider before going out to sea. Mission Beach has a wonderful climate and the seas are calm most of the time. Fishin' Mission generally does not go out when the wind tops twenty knots and Dennis is always happy to advise clients of the short term forecast.
Reef Fishing
Enjoy a FULL day fishing the Great Barrier Reef. This trip is for those looking for a relaxed fun day out and hoping to take some reef fish home.
ITINERARY
DEPART: 7am from Clump Point boat ramp
RETURN: 4pm
TARGET SPECIES: Spanish Mackerel, Spotted Mackerel (seasonal), Tuna, Trevally, Cobia Coral Trout, Sweetlips and Emperor are some of the species that may be caught.
FISHING EQUIPMENT: We use rods and "egg beater" type reels, hand lines are available for the more adventurous. Shimano overheads are used for the live and drifted baits.
FISHING LOCATIONS: Eddy Reef, Ellison Reef, Otter Reef, Kennedy Shoal and Lady Bowen which is an historical wreck. The location for the day is chosen on the day and is dependant on weather, distance and experience of the guests.
SPECIAL INTERESTS: During the annual migration whales can be seen as well as dolphins, turtles, manta rays and sea snakes.
Island Fishing
Enjoy a half or full day fishing around the local islands trying your luck on our inshore reefs.
ITINERARY
DEPART: 7am from Clump Point boat ramp
RETURN: 12 Noon (4pm for the full day)
TARGET SPECIES: Spanish Mackerel, Spotted Mackerel (seasonal), Trevally, Coral Trout, Queenfish are some of the species that may be caught.
FISHING EQUIPMENT: We use rods and "egg beater" type reels, hand lines are available for the more adventurous.
FISHING LOCATIONS:
Barnard Islands (Olive Rock, The Crane, White Lady)
Dunk Island (40ft and The Channel)
Wheeler Island (Cathedral Rock)
Sole Charter
Your choice of full day reef or island fishing, departing at 7.30am and returning at 4.00pm (min 4 persons, max 6 persons).
